Academic Calendar
Looking for registration deadlines, spring break or when grades are due? Our academic calendar has all of the important events for this academic year.
The Elmira College Scholars Program awards five full-tuition scholarships per year to first-year, full-time students.
A committee comprised of faculty and administrators reviews the Scholar Applicants and selects a group of finalists to interview. From the finalists, five students are chosen as Elmira Scholars.
When reviewing applicants for the Elmira College Scholars Program, the committee conducts a thorough and comprehensive review of an applicant’s complete file. The committee reviews high school transcripts, academic profiles, letters of recommendation, personal statements, and a 500-750 word scholarship essay based on a prompt.
Applicants need to have a 3.7 unweighted academic GPA.
Current high school students interested in applying should complete the Application for Admission as well as the Elmira Scholars Application through the EC Online Portal. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on December 31.
Elmira Scholars will receive a full-tuition scholarship renewable at the level of the entering year for up to four years of continuous enrollment, less any Federal and/or State Grants (e.g. Pell, TAP, other). The Elmira Scholars benefit replaces all other Elmira College Scholarships, Grants, and Awards. Elmira Scholars are required to file a FAFSA and live on campus each year. A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA must be achieved at the end of each academic year and the student must be considered in good standing at Elmira College to retain the scholarship. Elmira Scholars also receive access to honors seminars and courses.
Those finalists who are not selected as an Elmira Scholar will be eligible for a $28,000 Trustee Scholarship. The Trustee Scholarship replaces all other Elmira College Scholarships, Grants, and Awards.
